If this is your godown

The register and the rack disagree.

Stock is a day behind, at best

The Excel sheet is updated in the evening, if someone remembers. Sales quote from a figure that was true this morning.

Fast movers run out in season

Nobody sees the shortfall until a customer order cannot be filled, and then the material is bought at whatever rate is available.

Nobody can trace a batch

When a customer reports a problem, working out which lot it came from and who else received it takes a day of paperwork.

Transfers between godowns vanish

Material leaves one location and is recorded at the other whenever someone gets to it. In between, it is nowhere.

What you get

One stock figure everyone can trust.

Stock by godown and rack

Quantities per location, updated as goods move. The register that was always a day behind is gone.

Batch and serial tracking

Trace a batch forward to the customer and back to the supplier. Expiry tracked where your goods need it.

Barcode picking

Scan on receipt and dispatch using a phone or a scanner. E-way bills are raised at dispatch, and scanning keeps working when the connection drops.

Reorder before you run out

Minimum levels trigger a purchase request automatically, so fast movers do not go out of stock in season.

How stock moves

Every movement is a record.

Receipt

Goods are scanned in against the purchase order, so short supply is caught at the gate rather than at bill time.

Put-away

Material is booked to a rack or bin, so the next person can find it without asking.

Pick and pack

Sales orders reserve stock and generate a pick list, scanned as it is collected.

Dispatch

The delivery challan and e-way bill are raised together, and stock leaves the books at the same moment it leaves the godown.

Questions

Inventory & Warehouse questions we get first.

We have more than one godown. Can it handle that?

Yes. Each godown and internal location is set up separately, and transfers between them are recorded as real stock movements rather than adjustments.

Can we track batches and expiry?

Yes. Lot and serial tracking is enabled per product, so you can trace a batch in both directions and handle expiry where it applies.

Do we need special hardware for barcodes?

No. A phone camera works to start with. If you already use handheld scanners they connect too, and scanning continues if the internet drops.

How do we get the opening stock right?

With a physical count just before go-live. It is the one step we do not skip, because every number after it depends on that figure being true.
